Mariam Mustafa

Mariam Mustafa is a mission-driven entrepreneur, nonprofit founder, and influential advocate for Afghan economic empowerment and diaspora leadership. As a Board Member of the Afghanistan International Business Council (AIBC), she is a powerful force in advancing Afghan-owned enterprises, cultivating cross-border collaboration, and creating pathways for sustainable growth on a global scale.

She serves as the Co-Owner and Chief Operating Officer of Bamian Restaurant, a premier Afghan fine dining destination in Virginia celebrated for its cultural authenticity, luxury catering, and community-rooted hospitality. Through her strategic leadership, Bamian has become a symbol of Afghan excellence and a gathering space for cultural pride and resilience.

Mariam is also the founder of H2H (Here 2 Help), a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting underserved communities through direct support, mentorship, and advocacy. Her humanitarian contributions include her leadership in Operation Allies Welcome (OAW), where she has worked alongside the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Department of State (DOS), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to deliver resettlement services, cultural orientation, and integration support for newly arrived Afghan refugees across the U.S.

Beyond her roles in business and humanitarian response, Mariam is deeply committed to mentoring Afghan-American youth and students, and helps them navigate entrepreneurship, leadership, and identity with confidence and purpose. She serves as a trusted mentor, speaker, and connector, while bridging resources between generations, communities, and global institutions.

Her work is grounded in service, inspired by purpose, and driven by the belief that when women and immigrants lead, entire communities thrive.
