Afghanistan International Business Council (AIBC) Membership Policy
Purpose
The Afghanistan International Business Council (AIBC) is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting Afghan-owned businesses across the United States, Afghanistan, and the global Afghan diaspora. Through policy advocacy, business networking, and educational programs, AIBC fosters economic growth, promotes Afghan entrepreneurship, and strengthens a global business community.- Membership Eligibility
AIBC welcomes as members:
- Entrepreneurs and business owners of Afghan descent.
- Business professionals working in or supporting Afghan-owned enterprises.
- Organizations or companies with an interest in Afghan economic development.
- Allies and advocates are committed to AIBC’s mission.
3. Categories of Membership
AIBC offers the following membership categories:
- Individual Membership
For Afghan entrepreneurs and professionals based in the U.S., Afghanistan, or other countries. - Organizational Membership
For companies, chambers, NGOs, or institutions supporting Afghan businesses. - Student/Youth Membership
For students and aspiring entrepreneurs interested in business development. - Honorary Membership
Granted by the Board to distinguished individuals or partners contributing significantly to AIBC’s mission.
4. Membership Benefits
Members are entitled to:
Access to exclusive networking events, regional chapters, and virtual business forums.
- Participation in educational workshops, webinars, and mentorship programs.
- Opportunities to engage in policy advocacy and consultations.
- Visibility through AIBC’s business directory and global member spotlights.
- Voting rights in the General Assembly (for active, paid members).
5. International Member Support
AIBC is committed to empowering Afghan-owned businesses worldwide by providing tailored support to members located outside the U.S. and Afghanistan, including:
- Hosting virtual and regional networking events that accommodate different time zones.
- Creating country- or region- specific working groups or chapters.
- Offering multilingual business resources and tools where possible.
- Facilitating cross-border collaboration, market access, and trade support.
- Advocating for diaspora business interests in host-country policies and systems.
- Supporting international members in navigating regulatory, legal, and operational challenges.
6. Membership Responsibilities
Members are expected to:
- Support AIBC’s mission and participate in its global and local programs.
- Adhere to AIBC’s Code of Conduct and values of integrity, respect, and inclusion.
- Pay annual dues as determined by the Board of Directors.
- Attend at least one major AIBC event or meeting (virtually or in person) annually.
7. Membership Dues
Membership dues are set annually by the Board and may vary by membership category and country of residence. Fee waivers or discounts may be granted based on need or partnership agreements.
8. Termination of Membership
Membership may be suspended or revoked by the Board for:
- Non-payment of dues after a grace period.
- Violation of AIBC policies or Code of Conduct.
- Actions are harmful to the organization’s mission, reputation, or integrity.
9. Reinstatement
Members who were suspended for non-payment or inactivity may request reinstatement upon meeting all dues and compliance requirements.
10. Governance and Participation
All members are encouraged to contribute to AIBC initiatives, join regional or global committees, and participate in leadership elections and advisory forums.
